Ferguson Marine to reduce workforce by 25 percent

Ferguson Marine plans to cut a quarter of its workforce as construction on the second of two CalMac ferries nears completion. The state-owned shipyard in Port Glasgow has faced significant delays on the ferry project. Management indicated that the reduction in staff is necessary as the current workload winds down. Future contract awards for the shipyard remain the primary factor for long-term staffing levels.
