Bank of England selects new wildlife designs for banknotes

The Bank of England has finalized the selection of four animals to appear on future banknotes following a public vote. Nearly 500,000 people participated in the selection process, choosing from a shortlist of 18 creatures. The hedgehog is among the four animals selected to feature on the currency designs. The Bank of England will provide further details on the rollout schedule for the new note designs.
